Calabogie Peaks

This resort is closer to Ottawa than Toronto, but the 4-hour drive is worth it to see the highest vertical drop in Ontario! Horseshoe Resort

Less than an hour from Toronto you’ll find Horseshoe Resort with 29 runs, 8 lifts, and a brand new 6 seat chairlift to take you up the 300-foot-tall mountain. Because this hill is so short it makes a great destination for beginner skiers. Once you’re tired of the ski hill you can try out one of their many year-round activities like snowshoeing, snow tubing, treetop trekking and a rock-climbing wall.

Hidden Valley Highlands Ski Area

North of Toronto in Muskoka on Peninsula Lake you’ll find this small, four lift resort that will make a nice addition to your weekend away from the city. Bring the kids to this hill and enjoy the easy beginner runs as a family.

Glen Eden

Less than an hour from Toronto at Kelso Conservation Area near Milton, Glen Eden is an awesome hill to take the family for a day of skiing and snow tubing. This is a great place for beginners to take lessons, as well!

Snow Valley Ski Resort

With the title of Ontario’s favourite family resort, this resort near Barrie is the perfect destination for a family ski trip. It is a mid-sized resort with 19 runs, and also features 14 kilometres of snowshoe trails and 14 snow tube runs. You’ll keep the whole family satisfied here!
