We are extremely pleased to announce that Switzer-CARTY Transportation has acquired DanNel Coach Lines in St. Catharines, Ontario, as of April 1, 2022.

DanNel Coach Lines is a fourth-generation family owned and operated business which started in 1979 by Dan Weir and Nelson Campbell operating from offices in St. Catharines, Ontario. In 1984 Dan Weir became the sole owner of the business. Dan had previously owned Niagara Coach Lines from 1952 to 1968 when he first retired and sold his business to Charterways Transportation.

June Jobson, Dan Weir’s daughter, began working at DanNel Coach Lines at the inception of the company and assumed full responsibility, becoming President, following her father’s passing in 1986. June retired as President of DanNel in 2020.

Upon June’s retirement, Rob and Brian Jobson assumed further leadership roles. Rob and Brian expanded the transportation services of DanNel several years ago to include specialty vehicles (to complement their school bus fleet) offering wine tours, wedding parties, corporate events and airport transportation to serve a growing list of clients.  Alex Jobson, Brian’s son, is a fourth-generation family member who began working at DanNel several years ago.

As a family team, the Jobson family has built a reputation for safe and reliable service in the Niagara Region. Over the past forty (40) years, the business has grown to employ over two hundred (200) part and full-time employees.

Commenting on the DanNel acquisition, Jim Switzer, President and CEO of Switzer-CARTY Transportation said,

“I have known June Jobson and her family since I started in the business back in 1985. DanNel had a great reputation for quality service at that time and their reputation as an industry leader continues to this day. We respect that the Jobson family has entrusted Switzer-CARTY Transportation to continue their renowned legacy, serving the residents of the Niagara Region moving forward.”

Jim Switzer further stated,

“We welcome the DanNel Team to Switzer-CARTY. We want to assure everyone that all the professional drivers, technicians and operations staff that have been serving the community will remain in place. We wish both June and Rob a very pleasant and healthy retirement and we are excited that Brian and Alex have chosen to stay on with the company.” On a personal note, Jim started his school busing career thirty-six (36) years ago in Beamsville with Babcock Bus Lines and lives in the Niagara Region with his family.
